Survey is live!

December 8, 2022

By Jordan Meyerl

We are pleased to announce that the Wyoming Cultural Heritage Needs Assessment Survey is now live! This survey is the first needs assessment survey of a broad spectrum of Wyoming cultural heritage institutions. It aims to collect information related to their holdings, operations, policies and procedures, and condition of materials to better understand and serve these institutions. Based on the survey results, we will craft recommendations and best practices to assist in establishing a statewide Roving Archivist Program (RAP) as well as host programs and create resources for these institutions.

Project Archivist Jordan Meyerl began disseminating the survey to cultural heritage institutions on December 5, 2022. She will continue to do so until December 9, 2022. All surveys will be sent via the official RAP email. The survey will be available until Friday February 3, 2023. When completing the survey, please respond comprehensively for your institution; include all cultural heritage sites, archives, libraries, branches, etc. that are maintained, overseen, and/or interpreted by your organization. If needed, please collaborate with other staff at your institution to ensure all responses are accurate and comprehensive.

For questions and/or comments about the survey, contact Project Archivist Jordan Meyerl at spcr.rovingarchivist@wyo.gov. If you are expecting to receive the survey and have not by end of day December 9, 2022, please check your spam folder and connect with other staff and/or volunteers at your organization to ensure they did not receive it by mistake. If after doing so you still do not have access to the survey, please contact Jordan at the email above. Provide your name and institution name and she will respond as soon as possible with an update on the situation to ensure you can access the survey. If you received the survey but feel you are not the appropriate contact at your institution, please either contact Jordan or forward the survey to the appropriate contact.

We are excited to see the results of this survey and move into the next phase of this project. Your responses will be integral to the establishment of the RAP, and we thank you for taking the time to complete the survey and your continued support of this project. In the coming months, some preliminary results will be shared via the blog, so please consider subscribing to our email list to receive regular updates!
