Our mission is to preserve and share Kaycee area and Western history through our displays in a historic building in downtown Kaycee, WY and through our events, tours, and museum products. We were founded in 1990 and have displays on Native Americans, the Portuguese Fort, the Bozeman Trail, Fort Reno, Dull Knife Battle, the Johnson County War, and the Hole in the Wall Outlaws. We also have the original Kaycee School House, Kaycee Jail, a homestead cabin made with Frewen Castle logs, and various wagons and equipment. We conduct annual historical tours and events to share history with the public and raise funds for the museum, which is a private non-profit.Â
